Here at Keyclicks Towers, most of us are PC users as opposed to Mac users. It’s nothing personal: it’s just the way we’ve been brought up. Notable exceptions to this ‘norm’ are our graphic designers such as Kathryn and Dimitri, who like most creative designers have being using Mac computers all their working lives (the design industry is traditionally a Mac stronghold).
Still, we don’t think any less of them!

This blog entry offers assistance in configuring your email client to download email from our mail servers using Microsoft’s Outlook XP version 2003.
Once you have set up email accounts on your Keyclicks® hosting control panel, (or Keyclicks have done this for you), you will need to configure the e-mail client on your PC to allow you to download them.
An email client is the programme you use on your computer to send and receive emails. Examples are Microsoft’s Outlook and Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger and Mozilla Thunderbird. There are plenty of others available; the principal is the same with each.

As a creative, people orientated business our biggest overhead is salaries which takes up over half of our cost-base.
Other overheads such as office rent, IT and licensing etc take up the rest (not to mention the teabag bill). So given the limited amount of physical infrastructure we have in place i.e. we don’t have a big suite of offices; when people come to see us I’m sure it must pass through their minds as to why we charge what we charge for our hourly rate.
Don’t get me wrong here! We know we’re not the most expensive agency in the region; however we also know we’re not the cheapest. We believe it’s a question of balance and we charge what we need to charge to maintain the level of experience and expertise for the range of services we offer without asking you to help fund some swanky state of the art offices in the centre of Leeds or Manchester.
On this point by the way, we recently spoke to a Leeds based law firm who wanted to emphasise the fact that they had an expensive LS1 address as a selling point on their website as they genuinely believed it was a USP for their business. Being a typical Yorkshireman I couldn’t see how this could be true and offered advice to the contrary.

This week, I attended one of the many business networking groups that we as Keyclicks, are member’s of.
This one runs its events in Leeds on a lunchtime and is generally well attended. The format is an à la carte one with groups of 8-10 people sat at a table. Each person on the table takes it in turn to deliver their ‘elevator speech‘ to the other people sat at the same table. It’s quite a relaxed format with an open networking session being held upon arrival over orange juice or wine.
At this month’s event I’d say about 60 people attended resulting in new contacts being made and the opportunity to catch-up with some existing ones.

Well blogger me!
After much pushing and shoving we finally managed to launch our new website. Remember we don’t get paid to design and build our own site, such work tends to take a backseat position in comparison to the projects of our clients (which we get paid for of course!). So apologies to you if you’ve been ‘champing at the bit’ waiting for our new site.
Here its in all its glory.
There’s still some content to add, but that can be done over time.
Phew! Enjoy.
