Free PR Anyone?

Free PR Anyone - The Value of a Good Press Release

Yes, I did say ā€œfreeā€. Advertising and publicity doesn’t have to mean pawning the photocopier, you just have to spot the opportunity and pick your moment.

Press and magazine advertising card rates are out of reach for a lot of companies, plus this premium space gives you little room to get your message across and minimal control over who sees it.

So, why not submit a press release to your local paper(s)? Submitting a press release is free and gives you a captive audience to inform who you are, what your company does and to whom along with your specific news story and contact details. How good is that? Imagine how many of your potential and existing customers will see this. After all, good marketing is about creating a sale and reaching first base is about letting people know you exist.

Press One For…

April 16th, 2008

One of the aspects in business life that makes our blood boil here in the Keyclicks office, are companies that deploy technology in their business in an attempt to improve customer service, but in doing so; actually achieve the complete opposite.

Such an example of technology used in this manner are those companies that use automated multi-choice telephone menu systems to handle their in-coming calls. These systems are unfortunately, becoming more common place, no doubt on the grounds of cost saving rather than actual ā€˜improvements to customer service’.

Just a Note of Thanks

April 15th, 2008

thanks-for-a-brilliant-service.jpg

We work hard at what we do and take pride in every project we deliver to our clients.

So being human, it gives us a warm feeling inside when someone says ā€˜thanks’ or ā€˜we love your work’. Whether this acknowledgement is conveyed to us in simple email or attached to a bunch of flowers it matters not and makes us realise that everything in life is worthwhile.

Such an acknowledgement was received this week in the form of a simple card from one of our long standing clients whom we do ad-hoc work for, who thanked us for the work we have recently done for her company.

The gesture wasn’t expensive (the cost of a card and a stamp as can be seen from the pic above) – but it makes us feel good and you get bet your bottom-dollar the next time this client wants some work doing, we’ll give her more value than she pays for and in double quick time.

We are only human after all and given the nature of our industry, we have some big egos to massage.

Happy days!

Poor Website = Lost Leads

April 9th, 2008

Today I spent some time trawling the web with my ā€œbuyer’s hatā€ on looking for a company that provides the music/marketing message-on-hold type of products for our telephone system.

Usually we source suppliers for our business either based upon recommendation or from a client/existing supplier or networking associate; however this time no suitable recommendations were forthcoming. So like many companies looking for new suppliers, in my quest I turned to the web.

Get Your Wallet Out for Steve

April 6th, 2008

One of our clients, Steve Wade: a director of the engineering company Auto-Lift UK Ltd in Bradford had a kidney transplant from his brother back in October 2000.

As a way of ā€œgiving something backā€ Steve is planning to raise funds for the UK charity Kidney Research UK by undertaking the gruelling 26 mile inline skating marathon at Hillingdon Cycle Circuit in London on the 31st August 2008.

We think Steve’s efforts are tremendous and his cause is a worthy one, so we’d love it if readers of our blog could help Steve raise cash for this worthwhile charity which does a lot to raise awareness of and develop treatments for kidney related conditions for people of all ages.

You can sponsor Steve directly online through his Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/stevewade

You can find more about Kidney Research UK on their website at: www.nkrf.org.uk

If you’re a client or associate of ours and are planning a fundraising event for charity or some other worthwhile cause, please tell us about it and we’ll give you some exposure here on our blog.

Don’t forget to visit Steve’s sponsorship page with your credit card at the ready.
