Transfer Your Domain Name In

If we are to provide the web hosting services for your new website and you already own an existing domain name which you may have registered with another provider; then you’ll need to migrate your domain name to our web servers so that it can be used with our email and web hosting servers.

This is a simple administrative task for your existing domain name hosting provider (that’s the theory anyway). Many providers also let you manage your domain name yourself through a web based control panel (look for “DNS Control”, “DNS Management” or the “Name server Management” section under your control panel), if you fancy tacking the job yourself.

Modify the settings of your domain according to the following guidance notes:

1. For UK Domain Names (.co.uk, .org.uk etc)
Change the domain’s IPS TAG to: S2CONSULTING

This will bring the domain into our administrative and billing control after which we will be able to amend the domain’s Domain Name Server settings (DNS) directly and as a result, transfer it to our hosting servers without further intervention from yourself.

Note: If the IPS TAG is amended to S2CONSULTING as described above we will bill you for all future renewals of your domain. If you don’t want to be billed by us for your domain’s renewal when it arises in the future, do not amend your domain’s IPS TAG, instead simply amend the domain’s DNS Settings to those detailed below. This transfers the domain to us, but allows your current host to continue billing you.

2. For Top Level Domains: (.com, .net, .biz etc)
Unless we instruct you otherwise, amend the domain’s primary and secondary domain name server (DNS) settings to:

Name Server 1: ns1.keyclicksdns.net (62.105.75.222)
Name Server 2: ns2.keyclicksdns.net (62.105.75.223)

Once these have been amended, the hosting of your domain will automatically transfer to us.

If the registry for your Top Level Domain is transferred to us (i.e. we become the company that bills you for domain renewals), a transfer fee equivalent to 1 year’s renewal will become chargeable upon transfer. Once you have notified your host with a transfer request please let us know.

If you have more advanced requirements regarding the management of your domain such as the creation of MX records that will route your email through your company’s mail server or if you’d like to retain full control of your domain name, we can advise on the creation of “A” records that point the web traffic of your domain to our servers.

Confused? Don’t worry if you are, just give us a call and we’ll tell you what’s needed based upon your individual requirements.
